Description
The specimen shows a bladder with a slightly thickened wall and a massive diverticulum
communicating with the bladder through an opening approximately 1 cm in diameter.
The prostate is moderately enlarged but the bladder itself shows little evidence of thickening of the
wall. One wonders therefore if this diverticulum is not of congenital origin rather than being
secondary to obstruction.
